The Agency is now part of the portfolio of the Minister of National Revenue.. It was established in May 1871 under the Department of Finance. Later it was renamed to the Minister of National Revenue in 1918. There are two major branches to the Agency: the Taxation Branch and Benefits and Business Services Branch.
