Girl Guides of Canada (GGC) strives to give girls the opportunity to engage in exciting challenging and rewarding programs that will help them develop into powerful responsible young women! Through GGC’s organization, girls are empowered to reach their full potential, set personal objectives, and work together for a better world 🇨🇦 👩 ️.
Girl Guides of Canada activities are organized into five programs: Sparks (ages 5-6) Brownies (ages 7-8) Guides (ages 9-11), Pathfinders (ages 12-14) and Rangers (ages 14-17) 5️⃣ 🇨🇦. Each program includes activities as camping, outdoor games, hiking, canoeing, art, and scientific exploration. Girls are also encouraged to participate in special interest activities as science, technology, and global issues.
GGC’s mission is to “assist girls and young women in becoming self-assured responsible citizens and leaders; while providing a safe space for them to develop their abilities and take action to make a difference in the world 👩 ️ 🌏. ” As part of this endeavor, GGC provides programs and activities that promote skill building, leadership development, service to others, and global awareness .
GGC’s core values are friendship respect integrity courage and resourcefulness. These values are used to help guide girls in the programs and activities they participate in . Girls are also encouraged to develop a powerful sense of self-confidence and resilience also a commitment to service by giving back to their communities and working to make a positive difference in the world.
On top of that to the organization’s main programs, GGC also offers lots of special events and activities for example community service projects and international travel. There are also opportunities for girls to earn badges and other awards for their accomplishments also to become connected with the wider Girl Guide and Scout movement. Through these activities girls can develop a sense of belonging and gain the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the future ️.
